Darcy Waite learn their Cree language in this fun, easy-to-follow web series that's all about language reclamation.

Tansi!
Ivana and Darcy meet Lorraine, and she teaches them some of the basics of their language. Learning Cree isn't easy, but Ivana and Darcy have a great teacher!
EPISODE 2
Back to School
Lorraine takes Ivana and Darcy to the classroom to learn counting, and the alphabet. Darcy also learns to use scissors safely and gets a B- on a craft.

The Family
Lorraine uses illustrations to teach about the words for family, including pets. Darcy decides he wants peyak, no…neso…no nisto…no newo…no NINYANAN dogs!

The Home
Darcy brings Ivana and Lorraine into his bachelor pad to learn about words around the home. Ivana and Lorraine even help Darcy clean the place up!

The Office
Ivana brings Darcy and Lorraine to the office to learn some important basics, including, “where is the bathroom?” and Darcy’s favourite, “where are the snacks?”

On the Town
Ivana is dressed up and ready to go out, and Darcy promises not to cramp her style. Lorraine has some tips for Darcy about flirting in Cree.

At the Zoo
Animals! So cute! There are so many at the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, including many of the sacred animals. There is also popcorn! And ice cream!

At a Gathering
Lorraine, Ivana, and Darcy exchange some cultural teachings, including the Cree words for some of the sacred medicines.

The Grocery Store
It’s time to get ready for Ivana and Darcy’s ultimate test - they will host a feast for Lorraine, and speak only Cree. But first, they need to shop!

The Feast
At their feast, Ivana and Darcy, with Lorraine’s support, have a great time bringing together everything they’ve learned in Cree. They still have much to learn, but they are off to a great start!

Ivana and Darcy have had some time off since their last language lesson. Lorraine sets up a test that challenges their language skills…there can be only one winner (or maybe everyone wins!).

In the Kitchen
Lorraine shows Ivana and Darcy how to cook in Cree - from utensils, to basic ingredients, to cooking techniques. Darcy surprises everyone with his delicious bannock, and Lorraine surprises Darcy and Ivana with a delicious pie!

Sacred Language
For a long time, Indigenous people in Canada were prevented from speaking their language and practicing their culture. Lorraine introduces Darcy and Ivana to some sacred words, and they share their thoughts on the seven sacred teachings.

At the Mall
It’s time for Darcy to get some new fits, so it’s off to Tyndall Market Mall! Ivana offers Darcy some fashion advice, and they learn the words for shopping in Cree…before stopping off at the food court.

A lot of fun can be had in the great outdoors, with sports, games like tag and running races, and even a picnic! Riding the swings, going on a slide, and even traditional games like tossing the ball are extra fun in Cree!

Dining Out
Ivana and Darcy thank Lorraine for teaching them by taking her to Santa Lucia for dinner. They prove their language skills in ordering food, showing courtesy to the servers, and having tons of fun!

Pets!
Pets can be fun — and learning about animals and taking care of them in Cree is fun too! Lorraine meets Darcy and Ivana at D'Arcy's Arc Animal Rescue Centre, where they meet adorable puppies, kittens, and more!

Date Night
Darcy and Ivana are not dating - but what if, hypothetically, someone wanted to go on a date? Is Cree the language of love? Lorraine chaperones…and sets a plan to test out some language on her own sweetie!

A Walk in Nature
Lorraine begins to wrap things up for Ivana and Darcy, as their time together is coming to a close. They both express what learning their language means to them as they walk in nature, and learn the words for the natural world.

The Students Become the Teacher
Lorraine invites some of her young students to test Ivana and Darcy. These kids are great at Cree, and it is a fun and moving experience to connect to the next generation through language.

It's not Ivana's first time studying Cree, but it's her first time studying Cree with her new friend Davey. Davey is fluent, so he has a lot to share with Ivana. And it's fun, and very special, to be able to speak an ancestral language with a friend!

There's nothing like a Cree calendar to help teach the days of the week, and the months of the year. Davey's got just the right prop. Ivana is also set to learn about different times of day. Good morning, good afternoon, and good night!

It's Getting Hot In Here
There is a lot to learn about the weather, but Davey is too fr-fr-freezing to talk about it. Luckily, Ivana has some hot chocolate to warm him up. Davey may need an extra blanket if he's going to take the Cree weather conversation to the next level!

Ivana has really progressed in her Cree language learning - so much so that she can now have a fluent conversation with Davey to get to know him even better. And, Davey gets to know a little more about Ivana!

Davey has a special present for Ivana to congratulate her on her language progress, and Ivana has two presents for Davey - one of them is a visit from Lorraine! They all celebrate the special gift of their language.
